I am a Professor in the Department of Statistics at North Carolina State University. I wear a number of hats:
- Director of Undergraduate Programs, Department of Statistics
- Director of Graduate Programs, Bioinformatics
- Director, Biostatistics Training in the Omics Era (an NIH graduate training grant)
I graduated from NC State with a BS in Statistics in 1989, then continued at NC State to get a PhD in Statistics and Genetics under the direction of Dr. Bruce Weir in 1993. I was a postdoctoral researcher in Dr. Andrew Clark’s lab at Penn State. I have been on the faculty at NC State since 1998. My research lies in the area of statistical methods and software for analyzing DNA sequence data.
